Procrastination Or Lack Of Confidence?

Hey, I'm blogging again! Which just means one thing: I got my mojo back! :D

I spent 3 good months building this blog. I had a burning desire to write and to express myself. So I took on the daunting task of planning, designing and eventually coding up this baby. It's been 2 months since I officially "finished" developing my blog, and here I am, my burning desire has been extinguished. But how?

I like to think it's procrastination, putting things off for later. No, I've been lying to myself, it's not procrastination that kept me from making use of the blog I spent so many sleepless nights coding. So what is the real reason? Three words: lack of confidence. Yep, that's the reason why. I lacked confidence and stopped believing in myself. I kept asking myself: "Will people really like what I blog about?", forgetting that the very reason I created this platform was to air my views, not entertain other people (but hey, if you're entertained, that's cool).

Lack of confidence is one of those self imposed limitations in life, it's a form of mental slavery that takes over your mind and corrupts you with falsehoods like; "No you can't do it" and "You're not good enough". Come to think of it, a lot of people underestimate the power and effect of having a lack of confidence.

This is how the brain works: whatever you tell the brain, whether negative or positive, it believes. So lie to yourself (if you must) that you can do it and that you are good enough. After all, you'll never know until you try.

Confidence. Sometimes that is all you need to move forward in life.
